Itinerary

This is more than a vacation — it is a journey back to the land of your ancestors. Walk the same cobblestone streets they walked, taste the food that defined their culture, and stand in the very village where your family story began. From the grandeur of Rome to the hidden hilltop hamlets of Molise, every stop on this carefully crafted itinerary brings you closer to understanding who you are and where you truly come from.

Day 1:Arrival in Rome - La Città Eterna

Your Italian adventure begins the moment you set foot in Rome. Check in to your and let the ancient city’s energy wash over you. Tonight, gather with fellow travelers for a welcome dinner. Overnight in Rome.

Day 2:Rome - Two Thousand Years in a Single Day

Breakfast at the hotel. Meeting with the local guide and a full day dedicated to discovering the Eternal City: monumental square, famous fountains, historic Basilicas, Colosseum, and charming views that tell the story of Rome’s greatness.
From mid-afternoon, the city is yours to explore at your own pace — lose yourself in a neighborhood market, sip an espresso at a centuries-old café, or simply soak in the magic of Rome at golden hour.
Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3:Naples - Passion, Pizza & Ancient Grandeur

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Naples. Journey south to Italy’s most passionate city and discover its raw, vibrant energy. Walk through the historic center (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), explore its storied squares, and marvel at the theatrical architecture that makes Naples unlike anywhere else.
Lunch is a delicious ritual here: settle into a traditional Neapolitan pizzeria and experience the authentic margherita — invented in this very city in 1889.
Evening transfer to the cliffside town of Sorrento. Dinner & overnight in Sorrento.

Day 4:Sorrento - Lemons, Views & the Scent of the Sea

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, guided tour of Sorrento.
Perched dramatically above the Bay of Naples, Sorrento charms visitors with its elegant piazzas, fragrant lemon groves, and breathtaking views stretching across to Vesuvius. Your morning guided tour reveals the town’s hidden corners, artisan traditions, and the art of making limoncello.
Afternoon is yours to enjoy: browse boutiques for handcrafted ceramics and inlaid woodwork, stroll along the clifftop promenade, or take a dip in the azure waters below.
Alternative day-excursions: Pompeii (UNESCO ruins, half-day) or Capri Island (the Blue Grotto, full-day).
Dinner & overnight in Sorrento.

Day 5:Positano & Amalfi - The Most Beautiful Coastline in the World

Breakfast at the hotel and full day dedicated to discovering the stunning Amalfi Coast.
Few views on earth match the Amalfi Coast: sheer cliffs tumbling into turquoise waters, pastel-painted villages clinging to the rock, and the scent of salt and wild herbs in the air. Today you travel it by ferry — the finest way to absorb its drama.
Ferry departure from the port of Salerno to Positano: wander its steep flower-draped lanes and browse the boutiques that have attracted writers and artists since the 1950s. Then sail on to Amalfi, once a proud maritime republic that rivalled Venice, and tour its extraordinary Arab-Norman cathedral and medieval town center. Late afternoon, return by ferry to the port of Salerno and transfer to Matera. Check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6:Matera - A City Carved from Time Itself

Breakfast at the hotel and guided tour of Matera, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and European Capital of Culture, this ancient city of cave-dwellings — the Sassi — has been continuously inhabited for over 9,000 years, making it one of the world’s oldest living cities.
Your guided tour takes you through labyrinthine lanes, past rupestrian churches still adorned with medieval frescoes, into cave homes that tell the story of a uniquely resilient people. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7:Alberobello & Castellana Caves - Puglia’s Fairytale Landscape

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Alberobello and guided tour of the town.
Alberobello looks like something from a storybook: hundreds of trulli — ancient whitewashed cone-roofed houses — cluster together in a village that has earned UNESCO recognition for its extraordinary architecture. This afternoon descend into the spectacular Castellana Caves, a dramatic underground world of stalactites, stalagmites, and cathedral-like chambers stretching for kilometers beneath the Apulian plateau.
Late afternoon transfer to the green hills of Molise — the region your ancestors called home. Check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8:Matrice - Coming Home

Breakfast at the hotel. Full day dedicated to discovering Matrice, a small, deeply authentic village in the Molise countryside — and for many in this group, it is where the family story begins. Morning: Guided tour of the Church of Santa Maria della Strada, a jewel of Romanesque architecture and a spiritual landmark for generations of Molisani. Afternoon: Dive into the archives. With expert genealogical support, you’ll consult historical records, parish registers, and — where available — photographs and documents connected to your family. Many participants have traced their lineage directly to these very streets. Guidance on applying for Italian citizenship by descent (jure sanguinis) will also be available.
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 9: Matrice - The Sagra dei Cavatelli & San Pio

A day of celebration, flavor, and community. Matrice comes alive for the feast of San Pio, and the Sagra dei Cavatelli — the beloved local pasta festival — fills the village streets with music, laughter, and the irresistible aroma of handmade pasta simmering in rich ragù.
You’ll have the chance to visit family properties, wander places that once appeared in old photographs, and share stories with local residents whose own ancestors may have known yours.
Sagra dinner menu & overnight in Matrice — an evening you will never forget.

Day 10:Departure - Until We Meet Again

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Rome Fiumicino Airport for your return flight.
Arrivederci — and thank you for trusting us with your story.
